Sustainability Strategy

As steward of an historic London estate and landlord to thousands of residents and hundreds of businesses, shops and restaurants, we have a significant impact on and responsibility to our community and environment. Our sustainability strategy is at the core of what we do as a business and is helping to pave the way forward. The Portman Estate and Bioregional

One Planet Living® framework

Bioregional’s One Planet Living sustainability framework was developed together with WWF and comprises ten simple principles underpinned with detailed goals and guidance. The framework aims to achieve a vision of a world where everyone, everywhere lives healthy, happy lives within the limits of the planet – leaving space for wildlife and wilderness.

Sustainability Action Plan

We are proud to launch our 2025-2028 Sustainability Action Plan which sets out our goals and activities across four key pillars and aligned to the One Planet Living framework:

• Protecting our environment
• Prioritising people and promoting wellbeing
• Supporting communities
• Building partnerships

In April 2025, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated our climate targets and commitment to net zero carbon across all scopes by 2045.  This updated Action Plan reflects our enhanced understanding of future challenges and expanded ambitions.  

Since launching our first Sustainability Action Plan in 2022, we have generated notable momentum in some of our priority objectives.  Some of our key successes include:

• Achieving B Corp certification in 2022
• Launching our Supplier Charter
• The introduction of green leases for commercial tenants
• Restructuring our carbon reduction targets to align with science-based targets.
