Portman Burtley spans 2,000 acres of mostly farmland and woods, and lies close to the towns of Beacons-field and Gerrards Cross. It has been owned by The Portman Estate since 1948 and is managed on strong sustainability principles across the various activities taking place.

Our Organic Farm

Our farm is managed by Tia Thwaite. The team take great care and pride in their work, delivering an award-winning working farm of which we are extremely proud.

A predominantly cattle farm, it is also now home to a growing flock of sheep. When the cattle and sheep are not grazing in the fields, they are fed with a range of crops grown directly on our land. We supply directly to the public and local businesses, as well as established retail chains. If you are interested in buying some of the outstanding organic beef or lamb we produce, please do get in touch. We also have a dedicated website for our farming operation.

Our Woodland

Portman Burtley is blessed with some wonderful, established woods. As well as providing timber for commercial uses, our ancient woodlands and open spaces between have often being used for location shoots for the TV and film industries, benefitting from close proximity to major studios.
