Sustainable City Charter

In 2023, we became a signatory of the Sustainable City Charter supported by Westminster City Council and Westminster Property Association. The Charter is a free, voluntary, business-led pledge, that encourages sustainable working practices across non-domestic buildings in Westminster.
It contains eight commitments for reducing carbon emissions from non-domestic buildings. These cover areas such as energy use, procurement, transport, waste and deliveries, and setting net zero carbon targets to buildings.
We will be setting net zero carbon targets for our commercial buildings within our direct control and rolling out a waste consolidation programme to our tenants in partnership with the Baker Street Quarter Partnership BID.

Smarter Recycling Programme
We are working with Baker Street Quarter Partnership to expand their Smarter Recycling Programme across the Estate. This is a waste and recycling collection scheme that will help to reduce the number of waste vehicles on the streets with the ultimate aim of improving the ambiance and reducing environmental impact.
Delivered in partnership with First Mile and Recorra, businesses that sign up will be offered preferential rates and be able to utilise a range of collection solutions that can be adjusted according to their business size and type.
The scheme offers a host of benefits including:
• The option of a “No landfill” service where all items are recycled, and anything that cannot be recycled is used to generate electricity.
• The collection of a wide range of items including items that can be trickier to recycle such as coffee pods, textiles and electric waste collection.
• Access to reporting tools via an online portal that provides detailed reports of recycling rates helping businesses to achieve their sustainability and waste collection targets.
• The option to perform detailed waste audits, detailing what waste is recycled and what is thrown away. Allowing businesses to review their performance and think of ways to improve their internal processes.
Wild West End
We are a founding member of Wild West End along with six other Central London property owners, working together to encourage birds, bees and bats back into the heart of London, and create greater connections with nature for residents, visitors and workers to enjoy.
Our vision for a Wild West End
The West End will be home to green stepping stones between the existing areas of surrounding parkland, through a combination of green roofs and walls, planters and flower boxes, street trees and pop-up spaces. This green urban infrastructure will create a habitat for birds, bees and bats, and fill the air with the sounds and smells of nature. People will be encouraged to walk outside and spend more time in green spaces.. This will result in lower stress levels, and higher levels of satisfaction and wellbeing, ultimately creating a better environment for people to live, work, and visit.
