Marble Arch is the western gateway to the West End and Oxford Street’s connection to Hyde Park, Edgware Road and Park Lane. In January 2020, we published our regeneration vision for Marble Arch, which aims to transform the area into a high-quality, safe and civic space, to use and travel through, and provide a much-needed boost to the economies of the western end of Oxford Street, Edgware Road and the wider West End.

Working in collaboration with Marble Arch London Business Improvement District, the proposal seeks to improve road safety, create better walking and cycling connections and provide a more accessible and healthier environment with improved air quality. It also looks to introduce new greening, enhanced park access and improved tube access, including better bus connections.

The proposed scheme respects the role of the inner ring road and at the same time, reconnects Oxford Street to both Hyde Park and to Edgware Road. It is designed to create further opportunities for Speakers’ Corner, whilst also making major improvements in the quality of civic amenity and providing important environmental and public health enhancements.

This important initiative seeks positive change for Marble Arch, as Transport for London and Westminster City Council progress new transport policies for the West End and the Inner Ring Road along with new ambitions for the Oxford Street District.
