The Portman Foundation was formed nearly twenty five years ago with the purpose of supporting local charities and good causes.

Since its formation, the Portman Foundation has awarded £900,000 in grants to over 100 charities and good causes to support Marylebone and the wider community. Where possible the Portman Foundation has established long-term relationships with the charities it supports, to help safeguard the services they provide.

Some of the Foundation’s newest recipients and their causes include:

Dendê Collective - funding towards a theatre and arts project  based in Church Street which is specifically aimed at older people.

Imperial Health Charity - funding towards an art therapy programme for paediatric patients at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

Grand Junction - funding to support the provision of theatre experience for four Marylebone Schools; unlocking funds by matching Arts Council contribution, managed by Paddington Development Trust

Charities we are proud to support in 2025/26

Applications that relate to projects supporting children and young people are especially welcome. For further information about how to make an application and for a copy of our grant-giving guidelines, please contact: hello@portmanfoundation.co.uk
