In September 2022 we gained B Corp certification and we received our recertification in March 2026
The Portman Estate was the first estate to achieve B Corp status, joining the global movement of trailblazing businesses who meet verified standards of corporate social responsibility and make a positive contribution to people, communities, and the environment.
B Corp certification is a reflection of our 500-year stewardship of Marylebone, which has centred on taking a long-term, forward-looking view for the future benefit of all stakeholders, customers and partners. Through innovation and collaboration with residents, customers and the broader community, the Estate has developed and diversified to create a destination which is distinctive, varied, and vibrant whilst safeguarding the history, architecture and heritage of the area.
Our latest score of 87.8 demonstrates that we are meeting high standards of social and environmental performance across the business and we intend to do more.
To become B Corp certified, the Estate demonstrated excellent levels of social and environmental performance, made a legal commitment to become accountable to all stakeholders and displayed transparency by listing its performance against B Lab™ standards publicly on the B Corp Directory.
2024/25 Impact Report
We are proud to present our 2024/25 Impact Report, highlighting our progress across our four sustainability pillars.
Our Science Based Targets are now SBTi-validated, our Supplier Charter has expanded to over 60 organisations, and we have launched our 2025-2028 Sustainability Action Plan. We have also developed a framework to capture and measure our social impact across our placemaking initiatives, development projects and community partnerships.
As we progress through our third year as a Certified B Corp, we continue our commitment to supporting apprenticeships and delivering positive impact for our community and look forward to sharing updates on our recertification journey in our next report.
