1 October 2024 – Last month, The Portman Estate hosted a Charity Garden Party in support of its new charity partner Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. The event took place in Portman Square Garden in Marylebone and raised a total of £35,000 to fund specialist nurses and provide support for children with complex medical conditions across the UK.
On Thursday 12 September, stakeholders, partners and sponsors joined The Portman Estate to honour the great work of Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and raise funds through live entertainment, delicious pop-up food stalls and a charity raffle. All proceeds from ticket sales and the raffle were donated to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, ensuring every penny raised went towards directly supporting their vital work.
Announced earlier this year, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity is The Portman Estate’s new corporate charity partner. Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children across the UK, as well as financial and emotional support services for families under the care of a Roald Dahl Nurse. There are currently over 150 Roald Dahl Nurses caring for more than 36,000 children living with complex, lifelong conditions in the UK.
The Garden Party forms part of a three-year partnership and is just one of many initiatives the Estate is rolling out to support the charity. Under the charity partnership, the Estate aims to raise even more awareness and funds through a number of activities including sponsored walks, sporting challenges, bake sales and more.
