Keeping safe this holiday season
Please find below some useful tips from the Metropolitan Police on how to secure your home.
Securing the building
- Ensure the main entrance door is closed behind you when you enter or leave the building. Give the door a firm push to be certain the lock has engaged.
- Do not let/ buzz anyone into the building that is not known to you.
- Do not allow anyone to tailgate behind you into the building.
- Report any defects with the street door, door lock or closer to The Portman Estate Service Desk on 0207 563 1750.
Protecting your home
- Lock them out – lock all windows and doors.
- Leave them guessing – leave a light on after dark.
- Hide and Keep – hide valuables from prying eyes.
- Double Secure – always double lock your door, even if you are only leaving the property for a few minutes.
